Chancellor announces Budget Day
Wednesday 6 November 2019 - or will it be!
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sajid Javid, has announced he is planning to hold a Budget on Wednesday 6 November 2019.
In an announcement made today, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sajid Javid, said:
'This will be the first Budget after leaving the EU, I will be setting out our plan to shape the economy for the future and trigger the start of our infrastructure revolution.
This is the right and responsible thing to do - we must get on with governing.'
However, commentators are already saying that if there is a No Deal Brexit then the full Budget would be postponed with as theBBC assistant political editor Norman Smith has said the 6 November being "a simple economic statement".
It is clear that the Government want to demonstrate that it is 'business as usual' but in these unchartered times can anything be taken for granted!
